PHOTOS: Croatian dress designs hit the runway in Milan

20 September 2019 – Hunić Design Sisters, a Croatian Fashion brand known for combining the beauty of traditional dresses and contemporary women styles, has presented their new spring-summer collection in Milan.

The fashion show took place in Palazzo Bocconi, at “Event SAVÓ presents Opening Milan Fashion Week” on Monday, September 16, one day prior to the official start of the world famous Milan clothing trade show.

Hunić Design Sisters were presented in a series of mini-shows along with 10 other emerging international brands.

For decades the Hunić family has been making Croatian folklore costumes. The story of Hunić Design Sisters started in 2012 when sisters Diana and Adrijana Hunić decided to create their own fashion brand inspired by traditional Croatian designs and materials.

One of their bestsellers is a dress using the famous Šestine scarf material (šestinska marama), a red headscarf with a delicate flower design which was traditionally worn by married women on top of their heads. It is the first dress in Croatia inspired by the traditional Šestine scarf.
