On Saturday, November 4th, 2023, the second diving ecological cleanup action of the seabed was held in the Croatian coastal town of Trogir, spanning the area from Brigi to Lokvice to Žudika.

The event was organized in collaboration with the Trogir Tourist Board and Seastorm Rental, with the participation of over 20 divers and volunteers.

During the action, which concluded around 1:00 pm, a small amount of various marine waste was collected from the sea, predominantly consisting of plastic, discarded car tires, abandoned fishing gear, and even trash cans, carts, and other small debris that pose a threat to fish and other marine organisms.

Following the cleanup, the divers confirmed that the seabed in this area is now clean and that the ecological threats to the marine ecosystem have been significantly reduced.

The aim of such actions is to contribute to raising awareness about the importance of preventive and continuous marine area cleanup initiatives, as well as fostering everyday environmentally friendly habits among the local population and tourists.

That’s precisely why the Trogir Tourist Board adopts an interdisciplinary approach to maintaining the quality of the marine ecosystem, organizing such events several times a year at different locations within the city, particularly before and after the tourist season.
