The Croatian national football team could soon take to the pitch in a new home kit featuring a historic and culturally significant detail, according to respected football kit portal Footy Headlines.
As with previous designs, the kit will remain faithful to Croatia’s iconic red and white squares. However, the big change this time is the introduction of Glagolitic script – the oldest known Slavic alphabet with deep roots in Croatian heritage.
While the exact placement has not yet been confirmed, Glagolitic elements are expected to appear on the collar, sleeve cuffs or under the neckline.
These subtle details are intended to give the kit an elegant touch, while honouring Croatia’s rich cultural identity.
Footy Headlines notes that the inclusion of Glagolitic script highlights the country’s historical legacy. “By incorporating Glagolitic script, which has become a symbol of national pride and cultural preservation, Croatia once again underscores its rich historical identity on the global stage,” the portal states.

The new home kit is expected to go on sale in March 2026, ahead of the FIFA World Cup that year. Following the tournament, the Croatian Football Federation is set to change technical partners, with Adidas taking over from Nike.
This shift will mark the end of a long-running partnership and the start of a new era in Croatian football gear.
