Croatian posties will soon be trading in their mopeds for electric bikes…

Croatian Post have ordered 180 electric bikes, which posties will use instead of the current mopeds they have to deliver mail.

The total investment in the new bikes is around 500,000 euros, with 100,000 euros financed from the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund.

Krpan was awarded the contract to provide the FreeDuck2 e-bikes.

“This is a huge replacement, with a big impact. This shows that support for electric vehicles and technology is making a difference in the marketplace for logistics and transportation”, said Zeljka Fistek from the Pro E-Bike Project leader Energy Institute Hrvoje Požar (EIHP) in Zagreb.
