ZAGREB, March 19 (Hina) – The national civil protection authority on Thursday morning presented the updated data concerning COVID-19 outbreak in Croatia which shows that there were a total of 99 people who had tested positive for coronavirus, 12,519 Croats were in isolation, and 79 placed in quarantine.

Considering the case of the death of an elderly man in Istria, who died while being in self-isolation on Wednesday, the authorities said that in the course of Thursday the cause of his death would be established.

Dr. Alemka Markotic explained that the patient’s throat culture had been positive for coronavirus and he had been in risk groups.

However, the authorities are waiting for the findings of the autopsy before confirming whether that was the COVID-19-related death.

Markotic said that currently all but two positive cases had mild symptoms. Those two had symptoms described between moderate and serious.

The authorities said that the epidemiological situation in the country was still good.
