On-site preparations start for hydrocarbon exploration southeast of Zagreb

ZAGREB,  25 Jan (Hina) – The Vermilion Zagreb Exploration company on Wednesday announced intensification of on-site preparations for exploration digging in a wider area of Kutina in search of natural gas and petroleum potential in the next three months.

Exploration drilling rigs can be expected at four sites in Sisak-Moslavina County:  Zbjegovača-1 East, Međurić-1 East, Piljenice-1 and Gojlo-1 South, after the company was awarded licences for exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons in the SA-07 exploration site.

The city authorities in Kutina, some 60 kilometres southeast of Zagreb, said that they were optimistic about a positive result of the preparations and about the discovery of oil and gas reserves in the fields.

Gojlo is proud of a long tradition of exploitation of gas and oil. The Gojlo oil and gas field was discovered in 1930 and it operated until 1968.
