Since the initiator of the Tie project, the prominent Croatian Nada Pritisanac Matulich, was absent due to illness, the author Branka Bezić Filipović spoke about the book, emphasizing the main goal of the project to educate as many people as possible about the Croatian invention of the tie.

She also highlighted that this is an excellent initiative that promotes Croatian identity and culture, strengthens the ties of Croatian emigrants and their descendants with the homeland, and encourages collaboration in education, culture, sports, economy, and many other fields.

The exhibition was opened by Ambassador Dr. Siniša Grgić, expressing satisfaction that this project will increase the visibility of Croatia in the world. Dr. Grgić is also a participant in the project personally recognized by the Croatian diaspora as one of the most successful Croatian diplomats.

Following the global legend of Croatian roots, Charles Billich, other artists began to participate in this global project with their artistic creations. For this occasion, Nives Čičin Šain from Split created two ties using the papier-mâché technique, which were worn by the speakers during the presentation at Uppsala University.
