No headaches after this party: Zoomalicous holiday cheer from Hollywood

European Culture Club presented Viva LA Vino!  Party with Wine Tasting

Hollywood, Ca., December 18, 2020 – European Culture Club, an organization dedicated to bringing a touch of Europe to California, presented the Viva LA Vino! party.  The Zoom party included Croatian and American stars from various walks of life – from Hollywood producers, musicians, and wine aficionados, to scientists, business professionals, and Croatian Premium Wine Imports, Inc. (CPWI), an importer, distributor, and online store shipping premium Croatian wines in most US States. The Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia, His Excellency Pjer Simunović, wished everyone Merry Christmas and Happy and Prosperous New Year. And, the new Consul General to Los Angeles, Ms. Renee Pea, invited guests to reach out to the Consulate with requests connecting the Croatian and American communities, particularly when in-person meeting are possible again.

Matko B. Malinger, director, producer, and former Croatian diplomat, is a founder of the European Culture Club and Kino Croatia, the two organizations that have been presenting film festivals and premieres over more than 15 years in Los Angeles, at the top-notch venues, such as Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, as well as European music, arts and gastro events, with partners like The Peninsula Hotel Beverly Hills and others.

In addition, Dr. Tihana Skaricic, a.k.a. Dr. T., a Doctor of Pharmacy and Integrative Medicine, and also a media director for the European Culture Club. In her spare time, Dr.T is a piano player and singer, and she entertained the guests by playing classic holiday songs. 

“In this time when we are so far from each other, the European Culture Club is trying to bring people closer,” said Dr.T as she masterfully entertained the guests with Christmas songs. 

The holiday classics were intertwined with winetasting presented by the three-times Croatian National Champion Sommelier Sinisa Lasan. Lasan discussed a few wine varieties from Dalmatia and Istria, including Posip, Plavacmali Rose, Teran and Plavac Mali. And a winemaker from Istria, Ana Ritoša of Ritoša Vina, wines spoke about Istrian wines and about Teran as Istrian predominant red wine variety.

Many questions were asked about wines. And the conclusion by Malinger was that “if one daydreams about being in Croatia while drinking Croatian wines, one simply does not get headaches.”

At the end of the program, no one wanted to leave so the party continued with chit-chat.
