Nike closing all stores in Croatia

American global sportswear giants Nike to close Croatian stores

ZAGREB, 23 February 2019 – American global sportswear giants Nike are to close their stores in Croatia. 

Nike’s European headquarters have confirmed to lider.hr that the popular sports brand will close all wholesale and retail stores in Croatia. The Nike Factory Store, which has operated at the Roses Designer Outlet just outisde of Zagreb for the last 10 years, closed down in the last few days. 

Nike did not state the reasons for their departure from Croatia, but emphasised that their business on the Croatian market will continue to be pursued through web sites and mobile applications, as well as existing distributors and retail partners selling their products.

Nike is the world’s largest designer and wholesaler of athletic footwear and apparel. Nike has a network of over 1,000 company-owned stores and independent distributors and licensees in 170 countries.

Nike brand sales in Europe are second behind North America. Nike are also the official kit sponsors of the Croatian national football team. 

Nike’s global headquarters are in Beaverton, Oregon in the United States. The company has 73,100 employees.
