ZAGREB, 18 Dec (Hina/CW) – The Croatian World Games, an amateur sports competition for Croats and their descendants worldwide, will be held in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, in 2027, the organisers confirmed on Tuesday.
Igor Lacković, president of the Croatian World Congress (HCS), announced via Facebook that the event has received official approval from relevant authorities.
Founded in 1993 with offices in New York and Mostar, the HSC operates in 30 countries to connect Croats.
The Games, also called the “Crolympics”, allow participants to represent the countries they live in, fostering cultural and sporting ties, preserving Croatian identity, and encouraging return and investment in Croatia.
The first Croatian World Games was held back in 2006 in Zadar when over 2,500 participants took part.
Zadar again held the Games in 2010 before it was held in the capital Zagreb for the first time in 2014 and then again in 2017.
The last Games also took place in Zagreb in 2023. Lacković called the event “a shared success, proving that dedication, patience, and vision can create something that transcends borders and connects people”.
