The regional cable news channel opened their 300 square-metre Zagreb studios to the public on Tuesday for the first time, and its Director of Programming for Croatia says that their aim is to have over 7 million daily viewers.
“If our programmes are watched by viewers from the whole region at an average of around 7.2 million daily, then we will reach our goal,” said N1 Director of Programming for Croatia Dubravko Merlić.
Around 8 million euros has been invested in just technology, and Regional Director Rusmir Neftić says that N1 will broadcast 14 hours worth of programmes daily.
“We have a very complex way of broadcasting, which is unique in the world. At one point, part of the programming with be joint, and then it will switch to three regions – Bosnia, Serbia and Croatia – where separate, local programming will take over. We will produce 14 hours of programming a day. N1 has about 200 people, with around 60 people in Croatia,” explained Neftić.
N1 will broadcast from three centres – Zagreb, Sarajevo and Belgrade.
