New catamaran service to launch from Split Airport to the city waterfront

14 February 2019 – A new option for passengers looking to get from Split Airport in Resnik to downtown Split will launch in May.

Apart from bus or taxi, passengers will be able to travel from Split Airport with a catamaran service. Commencing in May this year, a catamaran service from Resnik to the port in the centre of Split will operate daily.

Split Tourist Board director Joško Stella said on Thursday that the catamaran will operate during the tourist season from May until October. There will be 8 daily trips in May and October, whilst in the busier months of June, July, August and September there will be 10 daily trips with the catamaran departing Split Airport every 1 hour and 30 minutes from the morning until 9:30 pm.

The 145-person capacity catamaran will take 15 minutes to commute with tickets expected to cost around 100 kuna and children under 7 free, daily Slobodna Dalmacija said.

New Split terminal is on track (Split Airport)

Split Airport’s new multi-million euro terminal building is expected to also open this summer with construction on schedule. The 59.7 million euro project is progressing on schedule and is aiming to open for passengers in July.
