ZADAR, 21 July 2019 – Former NBA great Shaquille O’Neal is the latest celebrity to arrive in Croatia this summer.

Shaq (47) landed at Zadar Airport on Sunday afternoon and happily mingled with fans, signing autographs and posing for photos.

The retired NBA star has arrived in Croatia for pleasure and business. Shaq, who goes by the name DJ Diesel, will perform on 22 July at Noa Beach Club on Zrće beach on the island of Pag.

Shaq is considered one of the greatest players to play in the NBA.  At 7 ft 1 in (2.16 m) tall and 325 pounds (147 kg), he was one of the tallest and heaviest players ever. O’Neal played for six teams over his 19-year career and was a 4-time champion.

Since retiring, Shaq has been busy with a number of projects, including being sports analyst on the television program Inside the NBA on TNT. He also has been actively pursuing his DJ interests under the name DJ Diesel.

“I like festivals, and my sets are the mostly trap, hip hop and dubstep. It is important for me to feel the adrenaline rush in the audience. When you go to the festivals, they just want to see an excellent performance. That’s why I give them excellent music, in a way which I connect all this together,” he said earlier.

ONeal ranks 8th all-time in points scored, 6th in field goals, 15th in rebounds, and 8th in blocks. Largely due to his ability to dunk the basketball, O’Neal also ranks third all-time in field goal percentage (58.2%). O’Neal was elected into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016. He was elected to the FIBA Hall of Fame in 2017.

Shaq will perform at Pow Wow festival at Noa Beach Club on Monday.
