Most Beautiful Croatian in National Costume from the Diaspora to be Found


Over 30 girls from more than 20 countries are expected to again compete for the title of the Most Beautiful Croatian in National Folk Costume Outside of Croatia…

Contestants this year will again arrive from the likes of Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Peru, New Zealand, Germany, USA, Sweden, Switzerland and Venezuela.

The event, which is organised by the Stećak Association in Bosnia and will take place this year from 28 June to 3 July 2016, is aimed at connecting Croatians from all over the world, as well as preserving and promoting traditional Croatian culture. The beauty pageant will take place on 2 July 2016 at 19:00 in Tomislavgrad.

Applications are now open for girls wishing to take part in this year’s competition. The rules state that girls need to be between 18 and 30 years of age, of Croatian origin, and must wear folk costume from the place where they or their ancestors originate from. If the contestant does not have costumes of their region, they must take part in a chosen costume.
