Lucija Begić is heading to India where she will represent Croatia at the Miss World pageant.

The 71st Miss World pageant will be held in New Delhi on December 16 and Lucija will travel to India as the representative of Croatia.

It is customary in beauty pageants for the first or second runner-up of the reigning Miss to travel to the global competition. However, this year, the director of the pageant and owner of the license, Iva Loparić Kontek, explains why this isn’t the case.

“The last Miss Croatia pageant was held in 2019, and Katarina Mamić, the reigning Miss Croatia, represented us at Miss World that year. Her runners-up were Marija Rogić and Iva Mijolović. First runner-up Marija Rogić stated that she cannot participate in the Miss World competition due to unavoidable college obligations, as she needs to prepare for upcoming exams.

Consequently, she has withdrawn from the opportunity to represent Croatia at Miss World. Second runner-up Iva Mijolović is looking forward to motherhood and family life,” Loparić Kontek tells us.

Since the final Miss Croatia pageant will take place on November 27, by which time the Croatian representative will already be in India, the Miss Croatia Organisation and Miss World Limited, the organiser of Miss World, have jointly decided on the Croatian representative at the insistence of Miss World Limited for Croatia’s participation in the Miss World pageant.

Who is Lucija Begić?

This beautiful twenty-three-year-old resides in Zagreb, where she studies sports conditioning at the Faculty of Kinesiology. Besides working with athletes, she enjoys working with recreational sports enthusiasts.

She is particularly proud of the fact that she assists individuals with physical disabilities in improving their quality of life through exercise.

“The friendships I have forged through this work are the reason I love everything I do so much. People with physical disabilities motivate me with their courage and positive energy,” Lucija tells us.

In her spare time, she frequents the gym, enjoys long walks in nature with her dog Lora, and as a former athlete, engages in various recreational sports. This versatile beauty paints, spends time with friends and family, attends concerts, travels, and collaborates with various organisations that help the socially disadvantaged.
