Mandzukic Pops His UEFA Champions League Cherry

In form Croatia striker Mario Mandzukic scored his 20th goal of the season and his first in the UEFA Champions League when he scored for Bayern Munich in their 3-1 away win at English side Arsenal in London last night.

Mandzukic pounced in the 77th minute to steer home a botched Arsenal clearance after a Philipp Lahm cross to make 3-1. The goal continues a hot run of form for the Croatian who is the Bundesliga top scorer.

The Round of 16 tie looks out of Arsenal’s reach after Mandzukic’s 3rd goal, the return leg will be played at the Allianz Arena in Munich in 2 weeks.
