2018 has been a year Croatia captain Luka Modrić will not forget.

After guiding Croatia to their first ever World Cup Final, the awards have been coming left, right and centre for the Real Madrid midfielder.

Modrić won the Golden Ball for best player at the World Cup in Russia, the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year, and the FIFA Player of the Year in the last few months.

Now he can add the Sportsman of the Year award from GQ Magazine. Modrić collected the award at a gala held in the Hotel Palace in Madrid.

The year and awards are not over just yet. Modrić is also in the running to win the Ballon d’Or 2018, to be presented by France Football on the 3rd of December.
