Luka Modrić named in FIFA World XI

MILAN, 23 September 2019 – Croatian midfielder Luka Modrić has been named in the FIFA FIFpro World XI, which was announced at FIFA The Best ceremony in Milan, Italy on Monday. 

Over 23,000 members of FIFPro, the organisation representing the interests of professional footballers across the world, voted with Modrić being named in the FIFA World XI for the fifth consecutive time.

Joining Modrić in the team were his Real Madrid teammates Marcelo, Sergio Ramos, and Eden Hazard.

In the main award of the night, Lionel Messi beat Virgil van Dijk and Cristiano Ronaldo to win the FIFA Player of the Year award, an award which was won by Modrić last year.
