Lufthansa boosting services to Rijeka Airport

Lufthansa introduce new summer service to Rijeka

Lufthansa

Lufthansa will increase the number of weekly rotations between Frankfurt and Rijeka Airport in the upcoming summer flight schedule.

The Germany national airline has been operating a regular flight between Munich and Rijeka for many years and in 2021, they also introduced a regular line between Frankfurt and Rijeka, which was also in operation once a week, every Saturday.

Lufthansa will, instead of once, operate twice weekly flights between Frankfurt and Rijeka Airport. The route is set to start operating on April 9, Saturday, and the second weekly flight will be introduced on Wednesday, May 25. Flights on Wednesdays will take place in the evening, and on Saturdays in the morning, Croatian Aviation reported.

This will give passengers to and from Kvarner more flexibility when planning a trip, which was practically impossible with one flight a week.

On the route between Frankfurt and Rijeka Airport, Lufthansa will use a A320 aircraft with a capacity of 168 seats for the summer of 2022.

German Condor will also operate between Frankfurt and Rijeka in the upcoming summer season, once a week, also on Saturdays, between May 21 and September 24, so Rijeka will be connected to this European hub by three flights a week.

As for the route between Munich and Rijeka, Lufthansa is set to operate on it once a week this summer, and Croatia Airlines is expected to launch three weeks of flights on this route.

Rijeka Airport is continuously recording positive announcements from airlines for this year.
