ZAGREB, April 3 (Hina) – A total of 68 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in Croatia, bringing the total number of those infected with the disease to 1,079, and an eighth patient has died, the national civil protection authority said on Friday.

“In the last 24 hours, 68 new cases of infection were confirmed, which puts the total number at 1,079. One more person has died at Zagreb’s KB Dubrava hospital,” Health Minister Vili Beros said.

The eighth victim is an 85-year-old woman who suffered from other chronic diseases.

92 have recovered to date

A total of 9,250 tests have been done, of which 898 on Thursday, 39 people are currently on ventilators and four more have recovered, which puts the total number of those who have recovered from the infection at 92.

“The only way to prevent the infection from spreading is consistent compliance with the measures we have recommended. That is the only way to fight this threat together,” Beros said.
