ZAGREB, 27 November 2020 – International Women’s Club Zagreb (IWCZ) is very well known for the annual Christmas Bazaar which it organizes every year in cooperation with Embassies and Country Associations resident in Zagreb. 

The Christmas Bazaar has been organized consecutively over the past twenty-six years, each year the Club chooses one or two beneficiaries and all the proceeds from the Christmas Bazaar are donated to the chosen beneficiary. In total over six million kuna have been raised for Croatian Charity Organisations in need.

The Christmas Bazaar is patroned by The President of Croatia and has the full support of Grad Zagreb as its main sponsor. 

Due to COVID-19 measures this year, the IWCZ Christmas Bazaar cannot take place, however, IWCZ is organizing the Christmas raffle which is a very important and popular part of the Christmas Bazaar. The Club has appealed to local and international organisations for raffle prize donations and has received an overwhelming amount of amazing prizes. The raffle draw will take place live on Facebook on the 8th of December the time is still to be announced. 

This year the chosen beneficiary will be The University Hospital for Infectious Diseases (UHID) Zagreb, who are on the front line of the fight against Coronavirus in Croatia and are in need of equipment. 

The Requirements of the Hospital 

The department is in need of 5 infusion pumps – external infusion pump is a medical device used to deliver fluids into a patient’s body in a controlled manner. Infusion pumps may be capable of de- livering fluids in large or small amounts and may be used to deliver nutrients or medications – such as insulin or other hormones, antibiotics, chemotherapy drugs, and pain relievers. 

The price of each is 11.025,00 kn. 

The prize list is updated daily. At the time of writing, there are 76 prizes ranging in value from 500 kn to 25,000 kn and each ticket cost just 10 kn and can be purchased from the IWCZ office at the Sheraton hotel every day between 10 am and 12 pm or by contacting them via email [email protected]
