International Table Tennis Federation Name Sandra Paović as World’s Best in 2014

Paović, who was a former Croatian table tennis champion, representing Croatia at the 2008 Olympic Games, has been named the best female para player in the world and collected the 2014 Female Para Table Tennis Star award in Dubai this week.

Paović was at the top of her sport before a near fatal car accident in Paris in 2009 left her without the use of her legs, The 31-year-old made an amazing recovery which culminated in her returning to her beloved sport and being crowned the new World Para Table Tennis champion in China in 2014.

Paović is now hoping to cap her remarkable recovery off with a medal at the next Para Olympics in Rio next year.
