International Pršut Festival being held in Drniš on 23-24 August

6th International Pršut Festival set to take place

DRNIŠ, 7 August 2019 – Drniš will be the place to be for lovers of food, klapa music and traditions from the Dalmatian Zagorje when the 6th International Pršut Festival takes place on 23 & 24 August 2019 on Poljana square.

This year some of the best pršut producers from Croatia will be exhibiting their products at the festival. Along with pršut, visitors will be able to try some of the best cheeses, wines, pancetta, bread from under the bell, honey, soparnik and lots more.

The Chamber of Trades and Crafts of the County of Šibenik and the Association of Craftsmen of Kaštela will provide complete gastronomic pleasure, preparing dishes with the best food from the sea and from the Dalmatian hinterland. In addition to the Drniš producers, a large number of exhibitors from all over Dalmatia are expected to participate.

The Drniš festival is a traditional gathering of local pršut lovers – which is the first Croatian product protected on the EU market. At the same time, it is an ideal opportunity for tourists to experience the different face of Dalmatia and to replace the crowds on the coast for a day with the calmer, authentic ambience of the Dalmatian hinterland.

During the day visitors can also visit the nearby Krka National Park, the Čikota canyon, or get familiarised with the history of the the Drniš area and take a look around at some of the works of famous Croatian artist Ivan Meštrović.
