A 34-year-old man from Sinj in Croatia has been remanded on bail yesterday by a Dubrovnik court after a hunting incident on the island of Korcula went wrong on the weekend, writes daily Slobodna dalmacija.

According to police reports the man was out hunting for wild pig on the western side of the island of Korcula near Smokvica on Saturday when at around 12:15 pm a bullet from his hunting rifle killed a 45-year man from Split who was also out hunting.

“The 34-year-old man immediately gave first aid help to the injured 45-year-old man, but after he was taken to hospital he soon died,” said a police spokesperson.
