The new Franjo Tuđman Airport in the Croatian capital Zagreb has been busy since opening in March of 2017.

The airport handled around 3.1 million people in 2017 with each passenger having their own little story.

To get to know a few of them the airport has launched ‘Humans of Airport’ series.

From Cardiff…

“My life has changed after visiting the University Fair. The plan was to enroll at a faculty in Zagreb, but the choice of studies outside of Croatia was more appealing. Right now I’m studying Sports Psychology in Cardiff, and I try to come home as often as I can. However, as much as I miss Croatia, I can’t wait to get back to Wales after a week here.”

Off to Dubai…

“This is going to be my third trip to Dubai. My sister works there and I love visiting her, although I have to admit that I could never live there due to the different mentality and the fact that the city is totally unadjusted to the Croatian lifestyle. For example, you cannot use the bicycle or take a careless stroll to the city or the beach since the traffic is mainly adjusted for cars.”

Exploring Zagreb…

“We are on our way to Myanmar. Having started in Barcelona, we’re now flying to our final destination via Dubai. We have no problems with such transfers since we love to travel and we’ve already seen half of the world. On our return, we plan to stay in Zagreb to explore the city. Can you recommend some places to visit?”

Stopping off in one of three homes…

“I live between three cities – London, Zagreb and Banja Luka. Because of that, I love airports and usually arrive earlier so I can spend some time alone on them. Since I work as a freelancer, I often get the best ideas during those moments!”

You can follow more news from the airport on their Facebook page.
