Hajduk Split to Tour Australia?

Legendary Croatian football club Hajduk Split, who celebrated its 107th birthday on Tuesday, may tour Australia later this year, reports daily Slobodna Dalmacija.

Hajduk Split last toured Australia in 1990 and there is a hint that the ‘whites’ could make a return downunder.

“Hajduk Split President Ivan Kos confirmed during yesterday’s 107th birthday celebrations that signs of an invitation existed, but that there was nothing concrete or official yet,” Slobodna Dalmacija writes.

It may prove difficult finding a free window however as preparations for UEFA Europa Leauge qualifications will start for Hajduk not long after the season ends in May.

The best time could be in December when the Croatian league takes a 7-week break over the winter.

In 1990 Hajduk Split played Australia during their tour and lost 1-0.
