Football fever returns to Zagreb as Maksimir Stadium sells out for Dinamo Zagreb’s all-important UEFA Champions League playoff.

After struggling to attract big crowds for a number of seasons, Dinamo Zagreb will run out onto Maksimir stadium in the return leg of their clash with Swiss club Young Boys in front of 29,000 fans as the sold-out signs went up today.

Dinamo Zagreb has a great chance to qualify for this season’s UEFA Champions League after the first leg in Bern ended in a 1-1 draw with Mislav Oršić claiming the all-important away goal for the Croatian champions.

There had been big queues at the ticket booths at Maksimir stadium since tickets for the return leg first went on sale last week and today the club announced that the match is a sell-out.

The capacity of the stadium is 35,000 but certain sections did not go on sale for security reasons.
