Food Truck Festival in Zagreb and Rijeka this summer

The first Food Truck Festival in Croatia which was a hit when it launched last summer at Zagreb’s Lake Jarun is back.

A new concept in Croatia, the Zagreb Food Truck Festival aroused great interest among the public and this summer, apart from Zagreb, the food trucks will also make their was to Trsat (Rijeka) and Kostrena.

The food, booze and music on wheels tour will start in Zagreb, at the same location as last year, in the shade of Jarun on the spacious meadow next to the Aquarius club from June 12 to July 4, and will continue in Rijeka, Trsatske gradine park from June 17 to July 4. 

In Kostrena, as part of the first Kostrena Food Festival in the bay of Žukovo, the food trucks will stop from July 24 to August 1.

This year’s Zagreb edition of the Food Truck Festival brings some new and old proven gastronomic delights and refreshments, themed zones such as the Staropramen PIVKAN ZONE, Hendricks zone for all gin and sparkling wine lovers, Kutjevo WINE ZONE, Badel COCKTAIL and CENTRAL zone, Martini Fiero REFRESHING zone, PET CENTER zone , KIDS zone and MJUZA zone in cooperation with Red Bull, and SWEET zone.

In the FOOD zone on METRO Foodie Club Square will be food trucks BarbaQ, Munchy, Apululu, Loaded, METRO Foodie Club powered by Mrav-Lobby, and Rougemarin powered by Staropramen presenting their delicious street food specialties.

The SWEET zone will be sweetened by Amelie and Nadine’s fritule. Festival Wednesdays will be reserved for CHEF KUHA NA KOTAČI, so the first guest appearance on Wednesday, June 16 will be Mate Janković, while on Wednesday, June 23, Nastasja Chiara Petrić and Marko Palfi will be guests on Wednesday, June 30.

Zagreb Food Truck Festival in its first week brings something for everyone:

Monday 14.6 – Fun circus show for kids, Chestnut and Papaya

Tuesday 15.6 – Interactive-educational play for children on the topic of using mobile phones and games indefinitely, “The big flaw of small screens”

Tuesday 15.6 – Fun pub quiz on sports, music, culture and gastronomy

Thursday 17.6 – Literary evening with a guest appearance by a well-known Croatian author in collaboration with Hoću knjigu

Weekend fair and sale of CDs, gramophone records and vinyl in cooperation with Woodstock CD shop

Children’s workshops from Wednesday to Sunday

In the first week of the festival, as many as four funk, jazz and cover bands will perform at the MJUZA zone, which will be announced in the coming days on the social networks of the Food Truck Festival.

The Food Truck Festival is held with the support of wheel friends such as Staropramen, METRO, Badel, Jamnica, Kutjevo, Hendricks, Bakina tajna, Kotányi, Pet Centar, Lavazza, Hoću knjigu, Jutarnji list, Yammat, Jukebox and Aquarius.

All day and night events with concerts and DJ performances, as well as children’s workshops at the Zagreb Food Truck Festival are free for visitors (except the pub quiz), and the working hours of the Festival are:

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY: 11 am – 11 pm
