Floating Multimedia Centre to Boost Tourism for Continental Croatia

DanubeA floating multimedia centre and tourist boat in the river Danube is set to help Croatia’s continental tourist offering shift to a new level….

Speaking at a press conference yesterday, Vukovar tourist agency Danubiumtours say that their project, worth around 245,000 euros, will not only contribute to the tourism development in the Vukovar-Sirmium County, but it will also enhance Croatia’s continental tourism offering.

Owner and Director of Danubiumtours Zrinka Šesto says that the boat, which is in the second phase of construction, is expected to be completed by October and will accommodate around 60 people. Besides short tours along the Dunube river, the floating boat will also be used to host a range of cultural events, concerts and video projections. The boat will be decked out with modern audiovisual equipment, and will cater for such events as art gallery showings, business meetings and various other events as the boat sails. Šesto added that continental Croatia has huge potential to develop tourism, and hopes that this project will become a recognisable symbol.
