FIFA release latest rankings: Croatia remains in the top 5

7 February 2019 – Croatia is still ranked 4th in the world after FIFA released their latest rankings on Thursday. 

Belgium is still no.1 with 1,727 points, just one point above World Cup-winners France who have 1,727 points. Brazil is third, 42 points above Croatia. 

As far as Croatia’s Euro 2020 qualifying group opponents go, Wales are the highest-ranked team in 19th place. Slovakia is next in 29th place, whilst Hungary are 52nd and Azerbaijan, Croatia’s first opponents in qualifying in March are 108th. 

The biggest change on the latest FIFA rankings came with Asian sides who were in action recently. New Asian champions Qatar made the biggest jump moving from 55th to 38th. Japan also moved up from 27th to 23rd.

FIFA will release the next rankings on 4 April 2019.
