Dubrovnik: Stradun Classic to take place from 26 Aug to 1 Sept

ZAGREB, 20 Aug (Hina) – The eighth edition of the chamber music festival Stradun Classic will take place in the atrium of the Rector’s Palace in Dubrovnik from 26 August to 1 September, featuring five concerts by prominent names in both Croatian and international music.

The festival programme, organised by the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra and Croatian clarinettist Marija Pavlović, will include a repertoire ranging from classical masters to contemporary composers.

The artistic director of the Stradun Classic Festival Orchestra is the legendary violinist and long-time concertmaster of the London Symphony Orchestra and the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, Gordan Nikolić.

Alongside Croatian clarinettist Marija Pavlović, the festival will feature violinist Asi Matathias, pianist Maria Meerovitch, pianist Danijel Detoni, cellist Monika Leskovar, violist Roman Spitzer, horn player Radovan Vlatković, bassoonist Pieter Nuytten, and double bassist Zoran Marković.

They will be joined by soloists from the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra: violinist Mirabai Wiesmehl Rosenfeld, violist Šimun Končić, cellist Mihaela Martinović, and horn player Toni Kursar.
