Dubrovnik named world’s best destination for group travel

Dubrovnik has once again confirmed its status as one of the world’s leading tourist destinations, receiving a prestigious accolade from the respected American magazine Global Traveler.

The city has been named the Best Leisure Destination for Groups in the 13th annual Leisure Lifestyle Awards.

This top recognition places Dubrovnik ahead of some of the world’s most renowned travel hotspots, including Costa Rica, Los Cabos in Mexico, Italy and Cartagena in Colombia.

The award was based on a comprehensive survey conducted among Global Traveler readers between 20 September 2024 and 30 January 2025.

Respondents were asked open-ended questions about their favourite destinations across a range of luxury and lifestyle travel categories.

The survey was available through print editions, subscriber supplements, direct mail, online and email.

“American tourists are first in the number of arrivals and second in the number of overnight stays. Direct United Airlines flights between Dubrovnik and the United States further highlight the importance of the US market. This recognition significantly enhances Dubrovnik’s visibility in that market,” said Miroslav Drašković, Director of the Dubrovnik Tourist Board.

The award was accepted on behalf of the Dubrovnik Tourist Board by Leila Krešić-Jurić, Director of the Croatian National Tourist Board’s Representative Office in the United States.
