Croatia’s Top Events in 2015

Sea_view._Rovinj,_CroatiaLocated to the east of the Iberian peninsula, Croatia is a small country that only recently has begun to assert itself in terms of providing excellent experiences for tourists. The little known country is, compared to larger, more well-known travel spots, relatively untouched, but this is changing, mainly due to the fact that the country has positioned itself in a manner that has allowed a huge number of foreign and local owned festivals and events to be run each year. 2015 is set to be just as busy as previous years, but which are the events you should be looking out for?

INmusic Festival- Zagreb- 22-24 June

One of the most eclectic festivals that take place in Croatia every year, INmusic Festival is s must for those that aren’t drawn to the other, more electronically-focused festivals on offer. Located near the Croatian capital Zagreb, the festival is hugely accessible, and in previous years huge names such as Foals, Bombay Bicycle Club, MGMT, Wolfmother and the Pixies have graced the festival’s stages. 2015 is the tenth anniversary of the festival, so despite the fact 2015’s lineup has yet to be announced, there’s likely going to be all manner of great names playing this year!

Poker Fest- Grand Casino Lav- 10-15 March

A far cry from the more musically-orientated festivals that take place in Croatia, Poker Fest, held at the Grand Casino in Lav between the 10th and 15th of March is a must-visit for gaming fans. With €100,000 up for grabs, prospective competitors had better get some experience at an online casino such as Jackpotcity before they head to the tables; previous years have seen all manner of all-star poker players contend!

Hideout Festival- Pag- 28th June- 2nd July

Located on the picturesque island of Pag, Hideout is THE party event of Croatia’s 2015 calendar. Dance music is the genre of choice at Hideout; in previous years acts such as Pendulum, Simian Mobile Disco, Chase and Status and DJ Hype have played, the Balearic beats pumping through the speakers serving as an exceptional garnish to the delicious beach atmosphere the festival is known for!

Sonus Festival- Pag- 16-20 August

Proving again that Pag is the place to party in Croatia, Sonus is celebrating its third anniversary in 2015, offering a host of techno-themed delights for festival-goers. This year names such as Apollonia, Barac, Binh and Pan Pot are playing, among many others. If you love techno, Sonus is just for you!
