Croatia’s Mikela Ristoski wins bronze medal in long jump at the Paralympics

ZAGREB, 3 Sept (Hina) – Croatia’s Mikela Ristoski has won the bronze medal in the long jump event at the Paralympics in Tokyo on Friday.

Ristoski, 31, is the first Croatian athlete to win medals at three successive Paralympic games.

In London in 2012, she won a bronze in this event, and in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, she became the Paralympic champion in the women’s long jump event in her category.

In Tokyo, the gold in this event was taken by Polish Karolina Kucharczyk, while Aleksandra Ruchkina grabbed a silver.

Croatia now has five medals at the Paralympics in Tokyo. The first medal, a silver, was won by Velimir Šandor in the men’s discus, whilst Anđela Mužinić and Helena Dretar Karić won the bronze medal in the women’s table tennis and Ivan Katanušić won the silver medal in the men’s discus. Today, Dino Sinovčić won a bronze medal in the men’s 100m backstroke.
