Croatian students win four medals at Physics Olympiad in Tokyo

ZAGREB, 18 July (Hina) – Croatian secondary school students have won one silver and three bronze medals and one honourable mention at the 53rd International Physics Olympiad in Tokyo, the Croatian team said in a press release on Monday.

Val Karan from Zagreb won the silver, while Borna Perković from Split, Viktor Vuković and Ivan Hegedić from Zagreb won the bronzes. 

Lorena Komočar from Zagreb received an honourable mention for the results achieved.

A total of 394 students from 82 countries participated in this year’s competition. 

The Croatian five-member team was led by professors Damir Pajić and Krešo Zadro from the Faculty of Science of the University of Zagreb, and their participation was financially supported by the Ministry of Science and Education.
