Croatian Students Win Four Medals at Geography Olympiad in Canada

More international success for Croatian students at the Geography Olympiad.

Nikola Bišćan from Donji Miholjac and Luka Banović have won silver medals at the 2018 International Geography Olympiad which was held in Canada, the Croatian Geographical Association said. 

Mihovil Penavić from Slavonski Brod and Leo Radalj from Split won bronze medals at the competition which ended in Quebec on Monday.

The International Geography Olympiad is a competition for the best 16 to 19-year-old geography students from all over the world. Four students represent each country in a series of Geography tests.

The Croatian team was led in Canada by Dubravka Spevec and Ivan Šulc. From 2010 to 2018 Croatia has won 24 medals at the International Geography Olympiad, including 7 golds, 8 silvers and 9 bronze. 

The 15th International Geography Olympiad was held in Québec City, Canada, under the auspices of the International Geographical Union Olympiad Task Force. The Olympiad ran from 31 July to 6 August 2018.
