Croatian Sportspeople at 676 Events in 2014

Croatia_ (4)2014 promises to a busy year for Croatian sports fans, peaking in June with the FIFA World Cup in Brazil…

This year Croatian sportspeople will perform at 676 competitions both at home and abroad, ten more events than the 666 they performed at in 2013 where they won 331 medals. The two main events in 2014 will be the Winter Olympics which will be held in Russia from 7-23 February, and of course the 20th football World Cup in Brazil, which will be held from 13 June to 13 July. Together with these two major events, Croatians will feature at the European Handball Championships in January in Denmark, the European and World Water Polo Champs in Hungary and Spain respectively.

During 2014 Croatian athletes will perform at 149 World Championships (94 senior and 55 junior), 100 European Championships (92 senior and 8 Junior), 192 World Cups (124 senior and 68 junior), 59 European Cups (33 senior and 26 junior) and 176 other international events (151 abroad and 25 in Croatia).
