ZAGREB, 29 Dec (Hina) – Croatian Radio will launch a marathon broadcast titled “100 Voices in 100 Hours for 100 Years” at 6 a.m. on 31 December on its Second Programme, aiming to enter the Guinness World Records as part of celebrations marking the centenary of Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT).
The most demanding part of the marathon will begin at noon, when more than 100 presenters will rotate on air every 15 minutes without interruption, in an attempt to set a Guinness record for the highest number of presenters featured in a single radio programme.
All presenters from Croatian Radio’s 12 stations, as well as the international service Voice of Croatia, will take part in the broadcast.
The marathon will also be streamed live on the HRTi platform and on the HRT’s YouTube channel.
The HRT said the Guinness record is expected to be achieved on New Year’s Day in the afternoon, after which the marathon programme will continue until the morning of 4 January.
An official Guinness World Records adjudicator will be in Zagreb to formally mark the start of the marathon.
If the record is confirmed, Croatian Radio will receive an official certificate at a ceremony scheduled for 4 p.m. on New Year’s Day.
The project was initiated by Eliana Čandrlić Glibota, editor-in-chief of Croatian Radio.
As part of the broader celebrations marking 100 years of Croatian Radio, 70 years of Croatian Television and 10 years of the HRTi platform, the HRT has also planned four major concerts and a range of other events, with the central celebration set for May.
