Croatian President to Visit Australia Next Month

Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović meets Australia’s Foreign Minister Julie Bishop in Zagreb today (Ured Predsjednice)

Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović will make an official visit to Australia in August, the Office of the President confirmed.

Grabar-Kitarović confirmed the official visit to Australia in August after meeting with Australia’s Foreign Affairs Minister Julie Bishop in Zagreb on Tuesday. It was the first time an Australian Foreign Minister had ever visited Croatia.

The visit will be aimed to help strengthen bilateral ties between the two nations. Australia is home to a large Croatian community.

According to media reports, Grabar-Kitarović will make her visit to Australia in the second half of August and will visit Canberra, as well as Croatian communities in Sydney, Melbourne, and Geelong.
