Croatian port authorities receive €2.2m from INTERREG programme

ZAGREB, May 5 (Hina) – The European Regional Development Fund has approved €2.2 million for the Rijeka, Zadar, Split, Ploce and Dubrovnik port authorities as part of the SUSPORT (SUStainable PORTs) project, the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure Ministry said on Tuesday.

The project is being implemented as part of the INTERREG programme which involves the Port Network Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea and eight partners from Italy and seven from Croatia.

The funds have been approved for development projects which will increase the ecological sustainability and energy efficiency of Croatian ports.

The amount approved for the Croatian project partners is €2.7 million, including €2.2 million for the  Rijeka, Zadar, Split, Ploce and Dubrovnik port authorities. Each will receive €440,000, of which €374,000 in grants.
