One Croatian pizzeria on world’s best list

Franko’s Pizza&Bar, one of Croatia’s most successful pizzerias in recent years, has once again been recognised on the international stage.
At the prestigious 50 Top Pizza World 2025 awards ceremony held on 8 September in Naples, Franko’s was named the 79th best pizzeria in the world, including Italy – the birthplace of pizza itself.
The recognition is another milestone for the Croatian pizzeria, which just last year placed 14th on the list of the 50 best pizzerias in Europe.
“Being included in the 50 Top Pizza World rankings is an important moment for every pizzeria. It represents a well-earned acknowledgment of the hard work and dedication pizzaioli and owners invest throughout the year,” organisers said.
Franko’s currently operates two locations in Zagreb – one on Branimirova Street and the other in Charles Darwin Street.

This year’s top spot was shared by I Masanielli – Francesco Martucci from Italy and Una Pizza Napoletana from New York. Second place went to The Pizza Bar on 38th in Japan, while Brazil’s Leggera Pizza Napoletana claimed third. Unsurprisingly, the majority of pizzerias on the list come from Italy.
