Croatian Davis Cup teammates Ivan Dodig and Mate Pavić have won their second ATP doubles title together on Sunday.

Dodig and Pavić, who earlier this month teamed up in the Davis Cup semi-final against the USA in Zadar, have won the Chengdu Open at the Sichuan International Tennis Center in Chengdu, China today.

The Croatians were too good for their opponents in the final, American Austin Krajicek and Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan from India, winning 6-2, 6-4 in 51minutes.

The win was Dodig and Pavić’s first together in Chengdu but their second ATP title after they won in Hamburg last year. They have played two other finals, both at the Zagreb Indoors in 2012 and 2013.

Pavić, who was ranked the world number one doubles player earlier this year, has now won 13 ATP titles, whilst the win was Dodig’s 11th.

The win bodes well for the upcoming Davis Cup final when Dodig and Pavić will try and help Croatia defeat France. They are expected to face one of the strongest doubles partnerships in the world in Herbert and Mahut.
