New York, November 10, 2021 – Croatian designer Maja Matas is a new member of the jury of the prestigious Clio Awards festival in New York – the Oscars of the advertising industry. The designer and director of the creative agency Amblem considers the invitation to participate a great recognition for the work done so far, but also for the Croatian creative industry as a whole.
The Clio Awards is the most prestigious advertising festival in the USA, founded in 1959.
Clio recognizes and rewards creative excellence in advertising among more than 20,000 entries from around the world. Each year, it brings together leading creative talents for an exclusive and collaborative judging experience to select entries to win the coveted Grand, Gold, Silver and Bronze Clio statuettes. The festival is for the Oscars in advertising, not only because the Clio statuette looks like an Oscar, but also because it represents an insight into the very top of the creativity of world brands whose global business reaches maximum innovation in advertising.
“I am honored to be selected as a member of the design jury for the prestigious Clio 2022 award. I look forward to the opportunity to directly exchange views with leading creatives from big companies like Netflix, Tik Tok, Paypal, Spotify, Verizon, Walmart and many others. For me, this is an exceptional opportunity to participate in the awarding of the world’s best advertising campaigns, but it is also a recognition for the Croatian creative scene because the invitation means that our work and opinion can shape the global market,” points out Maja Matas, director of the creative agency Amblem.
As a reminder, Maja herself is the winner of several international awards, mostly for packaging design, and for several years she has been a member of the jury at the international competition A ’Design Award, which takes place every year on Lake Como in Italy. In January 2021, after working in the corporate world, she launched the creative agency Amblem in Zagreb, specializing in branding products and services.
