Croatian Cup Final: Advantage Belongs To Hajduk Split

Hajduk Split FC claimed the upper hand in the first leg of the Croatian Cup on Wednesday with a 2-1 win over Zagreb club Lokomotiva at Split’s Poljud stadium.

Two goals in a 3 minute spell in the second half helped Hajduk Split take a 1 goal advantage to Zagreb’s Maksimir stadium for the return leg next week. Hajduk Split went behind in the 53rd minute when Lokomotiva’s Domagoj Antolic found the back of the net. Hajduk’s comeback started in the 66th minute when substitute Anton Maglica slammed home from just inside the box after Jean Evrard Kouassi. The Ivory Coast national Kouassi then sealed Lokomotiva’s fate just 3 minutes later with a goal of his own.
