Croatian company installs ice slide at Real Madrid’s Bernabéu Stadium

A Croatian company has marked a significant international achievement by installing a striking ice slide at one of the world’s most famous sporting venues, Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
As part of MAVIDAD Bernabéu, the first-ever Christmas village held at the iconic stadium, Croatian firm Arctic has delivered a 40-metre-long ice slide that has quickly become one of the event’s standout attractions.
Croatian Technology at the Heart of the Project
The ice slide, officially named “The Hillside of Whispers”, measures 40 metres in length and 12 metres in width. Uniquely, it stretches from the stadium’s stands all the way down to the pitch, offering visitors a rare and memorable experience inside the legendary arena.
A key feature of the attraction is its digitally controlled LED RGB handrail, entirely developed and manufactured in Croatia.
The lighting system produces dynamic visual effects and animations that adapt to the festive atmosphere of the Christmas village, combining ice, light and technology in a way not previously seen at the Bernabéu.

Growing International Presence
“This is an exceptionally important achievement for Arctic,” said Leo Ventin, Head of Operations at the company.
“To have the Real Madrid stadium in our project portfolio is something we are extremely proud of. In recent years, we have focused strongly on international markets, and projects like this confirm the quality of our products and solutions.”
Ventin added that the Bernabéu project will further enhance the visibility of Croatian innovation abroad, particularly in the fields of sports, entertainment and leisure attractions.
The installation was completed in collaboration with a local Spanish partner, with Arctic contributing to the design, development and implementation of the ice slide for this landmark Christmas event.
MAVIDAD Bernabéu: A First for the Stadium
MAVIDAD Bernabéu runs from 23 to 31 December 2025 and represents the first time the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium has been transformed into a Christmas village and winter-themed park.

The event brings together festive ambience, family entertainment, ice attractions and immersive light displays across specially designed zones inside and around the stadium.
Visitors can enjoy ice skating rinks, themed rides, workshops, parades and interactive experiences, with “The Hillside of Whispers” standing out as one of the flagship attractions.
With this project, Arctic has not only delivered a technically impressive installation but has also showcased Croatian expertise on a global stage, inside one of football’s most iconic venues.
