Croatian And Austrian Army Training Together On Losinj

The Croatian and Austrian army have trained side-by-side on Friday on the northern Adriatic island of Losinj. Croatia’s Minister of Defence Ante Kotromanovic and his Austrian counterpart Gerald Klug were present watching over their troops at Kovcanje bay near Mali Losnji as 54 soldiers went through a series of military exercises.

Exercises included simulated attacks on facilities by the sea hoding rebels, and attacking a boat with smuggled weapons aboard. The military drills between the two countries were part of the Central European ‘Pooling and Sharing’ defence initiative which aims to reduce defence budgets by developing common European defence capabilities when responding to crisis.
