Croatia wins award in China for world’s most attractive tourist destination

Croatia has won the prestigious 2021 Stars Awards in the category of the most attractive destination, which is awarded by the specialised Chinese travel and lifestyle magazine Traveling Scope, said Franka Gulin, director of the Croatian National Tourist Board Office in China.

“Although the awards ceremony was to be held live with more than 300 guests, due to security measures it was canceled, but we are extremely pleased that the award was personally presented to us by Sunny Zhang, general manager of the magazine and Lily Liang, producer and deputy editor-in-chief. a popular magazine printed in a monthly circulation of 700,000 copies,” Gulin said, before adding.

“The award won will provide our country with additional visibility in the large Chinese market, as was the case in 2019 when the same magazine awarded our country the award for the destination with the best cultural and historical heritage. In this market, we will continue to conduct all necessary activities and meetings with key partners in order for our country to have a better position when reactivating travel from the Chinese market.”

The director of the Croatian National Tourist Board, Kristjan Staničić, also commented on Croatia’s position as the most attractive destination on the Chinese market.

“This award is a great satisfaction and satisfaction for us, but also a confirmation that we are doing a very good job in the Chinese market. It is a very large and demanding market, especially in the circumstances of a pandemic that has significantly slowed down tourist flows between China and Europe in general. However, in the future we expect our country to be one of the favourite destinations of Chinese travel enthusiasts, and optimism is not given by the feedback from partners and the numerous awards and recognitions that our country has won in China,” Staničić said.

Traveling Scope magazine has been published since 1980, and it is the first Chinese magazine dedicated exclusively to tourism and travel. In addition to print editions, the magazine is also available on digital channels where they achieve a following in the millions.
