Croatia Thrash Puerto Rico to Advance to Knockout Phase at FIBA Basketball World Cup

CroatiaCroatia broke a ton on the way to a convincing victory over Puerto Rico in their must-win match at the FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain on Thursday…

Needing a win to advance through to the knock-out phase of the tournament, Croatia showed their class, thrashing the Puerto Ricans 103-82. Losses to Greece and Senegal meant that Jasmin Repeša’s side needed to win on Thursday to avoid going home from the tournament. Depending on results later tonight, Croatia could well face Brazil or France this weekend in the knockout round.

“Whoever we face in the next round we need to be calm and play like we did today. We know our quality and we will give it our best no matter who we face,” said forward Dario Šarić after the win.
