Croatia reports 8 cases in the last 24 hours, no new deaths

ZAGREB, May 14, 2020 – There have been 8 new COVID-19 cases reported in Croatia in the last 24 hours, the national crisis management team said at Thursday’s press conference. 

Today’s new cases bring the total tally of cases to 2,221. Since late February, Croatia has conducted 50,340 tests, including 1,603 in the last 24 hours.

There have been no COVID-19-related fatalities in the last 24 hours. The current death toll stands at 94. 

The new cases were reported were in the Grad Zagreb (3), Požega-Slavonia (3), and Brod-Posavina (2) counties.

The number of patients currently on ventilators is 7. There have been 1,850 recoveries to date, 16 more than yesterday. 146 people are currently in hospital.  

“The situation in Croatia is very good. Seven of the new cases today were workers who returned from Sweden earlier this month. The source of all of our new cases is known and the situation is under control,” said the head of Croatian Public Health Institute Krunoslav Capak.
