Croatia Near Top of Global Peace Index

The Global Peace Index (GPI) measures the relative position of 162 nations’ peacefulness, and is based on 22 qualitative and quantitative indicators, such as, domestic and international conflict, crime rates, political stability, militarisation, and society and security factors. The nations ranked as the least peaceful included, Afghanistan, Somalia, Syria, Iraq and Sudan, whilst Iceland, Denmark and New Zealand were at the top of the list.
